Calvary exists to glorify God through transforming ordinary people into fully-equipped followers of CHRIST.

Calvary Bible Church values. . .

God's Word
We believe God inspired human writers to record His Word to mankind through the original manuscripts of the sixty-six books of the Bible. The entirety of Scripture is without error or contradiction and is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice for His people.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."  - 2 Timothy 3:16–17

”For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." -  2 Peter 1:21

Worshipping God
Worship is not about us - it is all about God! We are created to be engaged in worshipping God through celebration, devotion, prayer, and conviction; drawing near to Him, worshipping in Spirit and absolute truth. Our whole life becomes an act of worship, both in our church services and in our private lives. Our families, our finances, our work and recreation – everything becomes an offering of worship to Him.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." - Colossians 3:15–17

"God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”  - John 4:24

Life Transformation
Jesus Christ commands us to follow Him and pattern our lives after Him. Spiritual maturity is neither instant nor automatic. It is a progressive and lifelong process. Our goal is to equip followers of Christ with tools essential for transforming their lives into ones that are mature and well-pleasing to God; having knowledge of His Word, obedience to His directives, and hope for His coming again.A transformed follower answers the call not only to be a disciple, but also to make disciples.

"And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”       - Colossians 1:9-10

Connecting to a Caring Community
We value authentic and loving relationships that build up the community of believers. We encourage our people to become involved in smaller groups with other believers for the purpose of mutual instruction in the word, fellowship, encouragement, comfort, and correction. This may be through Bible study or service groups at the church and through affinity groups meeting in homes.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers. .... And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
- Acts 2:42, 46-47

Serving in Ministry
God assigns every believer with gifts, talent, resources and opportunities to contribute to the building up of the body as a whole. We seek to help all members discover their particular gifts and abilities and to develop them to the end that all may be placed in positions of ministry where they can be most effective in glorifying God and edifying the body of Christ. We do this by demonstrating humility, practicing integrity and loving unconditionally.

"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, ......from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”                 - Ephesians 4:11-12, 16

Sharing the Gospel

We believe people are naturally lost and in need of God’s salvation. Therefore, we are commanded to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ with all people; both those in our community and those in other parts of the world.Salvation comes by hearing God’s word and believing in its message. We are called to be ambassadors of that message to the unbelieving world.

“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."  - 2 Corinthians 5:18–20
